FIRST TIME HERE? | ||||||
Presumably this is your first
visit my website. One of the things about me is that
I like to explain things that probably don't need explanation and I tend
to go on. I can't stand websites with a
flash intro as such an intro is interesting only once and after one
viewing is only annoying. Adherents to the philosophy
of "Toot your own horn, or somebody will used it for a funnel"
will understand why I am compelled to throw down a bunch of stuff about
me and what , why, and how of what I do. BUT!
You, the consumer, should not be made to have to see this stuff over and
over and over and over ......it is just annoying. If I get this finished you can
read this at your leisure and not have to come to this part of the maze
again unless you want to analyze some tidbit of wisdom and/or humor in
this drivel. I have been drawing cars since the
4th grade, (1956) By the time I had reached the 8th grade I
figured out that becoming the next Ed "Big Daddy" Roth
would involve hard work and....rejection. As a traveler on the
path of least resistance I let my career pick me. I did other
things until 2003 when I tried to establish myself as a commercial
artist/illustrator, but didn't take that seriously until 2006. Car lust was the seed of my
artistic endeavors. In 1961 I paid $150 for a Model A coupe
roller to make a hotrod. If you know me you have heard me say that
I didn't have the money, brains, or ambition to make a hot rod.
So, I became a restorer. Being a restorer of cars involved taking them
apart and replacing bad parts with good parts. I can change
parts. (parts changers are not mechanics). Time marches on....I still have
the car. Actually, I sold it to my dad when I went to college and
he restored it...several times until he gave it back to me a couple of
years ago. I also still have a 1952 MGTD that I got in 1974 when I
got back from In 2005 my dream job chased my
lardass down. I actually get money for drawing
pictures of cars and I have an opportunity to finish something
mechanical. I am a mechanic wannabe. With some supervision I
can change parts, but I have forever dreamed of building a car with my
hands in my garage. As soon as I get my garage clean I will
get on this. Years ago I went the way of
English cars as a beard for my generalized car lust. I carefully
concealed my membership in the I am out of the English Car closet
now. I love hot
rodding and hot rods. I have a non-denominational approach in that
I openly appreciate all vehicles but I am tending toward the old school.
Shiny cars are nice but sincerely believe that almost everything would
look great in flat black. I sincerely believe that John Boutee is
correct, "Torq Thrust D's are the ranch dressing of wheels they're
good on anything." Thanks for the work.
